A kameti, kept honest
A rotating savings group is simple: everyone puts in the same amount each cycle, and each cycle one member takes the whole pot. It keeps working as long as everyone can see who has paid. That visibility is the entire job of TrustKameti.
For the organiser
Create the kameti
Members, amount, currency, weekly or monthly, and the grace period before a contribution counts as late.
Decide the order
First come first served, a random draw, or an order you set. As owner you can take the first number if that is the arrangement.
Verify contributions
Each receipt lands in your queue. Accept it, or send it back with the cycle still open.
Pay out the pot
You pay the member whose turn it is, straight from your account to theirs.
For members
Accept the invitation
You will see the amount, the frequency and how many committee numbers you hold before you agree to anything.
Add your payout account
The bank details the pot should arrive in when your turn comes round.
Pay and upload the proof
Transfer as you normally would, then attach the receipt so the record is settled.
Build your trust score
Paying on time is what raises it. Organisers can see it before they invite you into the next one.
Before you ask
Do you hold our money?
No. Not at any point. Members pay each other directly, exactly as they do now. We hold the record and the proof, nothing else.
What if someone stops paying?
The cycle shows as overdue with the number of days, everyone in the kameti can see it, and it counts against that member's trust score. Chasing them is still a human conversation.
Can one person take two turns?
Yes. A member can hold several committee numbers, and contributes once per number each cycle. The pot comes to them on each of their turns.
Which currency can we use?
Pick the one your group actually uses when you create the kameti. It locks once the first contribution is recorded, so the history cannot be restated.
